Grange 3's intensive Christmas squash camp ( all welcome next season, 5 mornings, 7am - 11am, £15) has paid dividends in the first match of 2011. Notice how the David Lloyd players all have surnames resembling alcoholic drinks whereas the Grange men had wisely abstained.
Gordon Sloan slogged it out with Sam Molyneax, closing out with a concerted effort in the 4th.
Duncan Walker made swift work at no. 4.
Pete 'steady' Cockburn shrugged off his mince pies and did the biz at 3.
Allex Killick was division 1 magic in the warm up, but our Stokesy played crafty and tight, to win 3-0.
Al Gordon went 2-1 up against Neil Abbey at 1, but that 20th point for the team melted away as Neil struck back for David Lloyd with avengance.
1-4 and 19-7 on points. A good result, moving us up the table to 6th. Next week is the all important double header against Hatton...
