Up first at 4 was Mike Hall agaisnt Robert Brown. Mike did his usual and got of to a blistering start sending his opponent in every direction as Robert struggled to get any sort of read on Mikes shots. Mike raced to a 2-0 lead but was pegged back as Robert found his movement and his shots gradually pulling things back to take it 3-2.
On the other court at 5 Gordy Sloan was taking on Gerry Burton. More positive here as Gordy took the first 2 with loss of only 2 points. No comeback this time as Gordy stuck to his game plan and kept mixing it to keep Gerry guessing. 3-0 to Gordy
Nick wood played at 3 against Steve Howie. A tight match but Nick not firing to well on his go to back-hand drops which Steve lapped up. 3-0 Steve.
I played at 2 against Mike Sutherland. Close again but I didn't have enough to close out any games and went down 3-0
Will played Alan Burton. Not the best match by both players account. Alan went 2-0 up only to get pumped in the next 3 for Will to take 3-2.
8 points in the bag. Not too bad but will need to improve to keep out promotion (gulp) challange on track.
Francos up in the comitee room after. Talked turned to the upcoming ESC tournament and whether or not you can play squash better after a few beers!! It was suggested we try it. I'm not sure it would end well!!
