Definitely food for thought going on that result.
It was Brian S that posed the question to me at the derby match. Based on 2 bad weeks in a row for him/GRG4.
All a bit gloomy. If it cheers anyone up I am pretty sure that Stokesy got a set against Sean. Sadly I had to hand over marking duties after 2 sets but I think he won the 3rd.
In the absence of a report one highlight was the point that Mark D. won whilst lying on the ground throughout the rally.
For Richard's benefit the meal was... pizza. Grange players thin on the ground but at least we had the aforementioned Stokesy to keep us entertained.

Thanks for flagging that, Ken - I have the scoresheet here and I indeed messed up denying Stokesy 1 game in his match, will get that fixed.
Not gloomy about the result per se, no shame in going 1-18 down to a quality side.
More a reflection of a few tough weeks trying to get all 5 teams out. End of season fatigue.
BTW, that is classic Dutton, playing a rally on the floor.
No fun in trying to rustle up teams at late notice I agree. I think both Alan and Mark had already played that evening and Ian was itching to get away.
Ken
Hi,
Did he serve whilst lying on the ground? Or was he having to return the serve?
I can fully understand the thinking behind dropping a team. I'm sure that everyone who's tried to persuade other people to play any sort of sport can empathise with you. Believe me, it's a minor miracle that WTN don't have just one team in the leagues. Probably upper-middle-lower division six standard, depending on whether we're standing, sitting or lying down at the time.
But with just one (or two) matches to go, you can't give up now. It's certainly worth asking the question but see where you are in August when people are keen and fresh again.
Richard McIntosh, currently sitting down
We're not giving up. When we had an influx of young players 3 or 4 years ago, guys like Rob Pfab, Rich van Liended, Patrck Langley, Clive Allison and others, we correctly decided to put in a fifth team.
When all those guys left years ago, we kept the fifth team by default.
Come Aug/Sept, we should review who we have rather than retain the team by default. Two teams in Div 5 can be done, as ESC proved, a long as you have committed players.
