First match back for the 1s was a top of the table clash at Colinton vs their 2s. We all arrived with hopes of making up some ground on the top team. Unfortunately this did not go to plan as the top team in div 2 showed us why they were top!
Mike Hall and myself were swept aside at 5 and 2 with shameful ease by Neil thomson and Adam Lord. Not much to report on these other than the matches didn't last long and therewas minimal suffering Mike and I!!
Moff took a good run at Roddy Robinson. Slashed him 9-0 in the first!! Roddy settled in and a tight matched ensued with Roddy taking it 3-1
At No 1 big Will faced down Mark Lord. A typical one string match! Very entertaining squash with both players going for their shots. Will took at 2-1 lead but unfortunatley didn't manage to take the prize. Mark fought back to level things and eventually ran away clear winner in the fifth!
Match of the night was undoublty the third string match between Nick Wood and Gareth Wright. This match was well underway before I started and still going by the time I finished. Nuff said! A gruelling 5 setter with both players looking to be in fine form. Nothing to seperate them really to be fair but it was the No 1 team that showed us (again) who was in charge! 9-7 to Gareth in the fifth!
Some good performances in there for us however I think it is back to the Grange to lick our wounds.
After the match it was back to the bar where discussions were mainly about golf (Gareth being an actual pro!!!)
Mike H used this fact to give us his tai chi and mind coaching chat. Fair to say most of us left a bit bamboozled!!

Third string match was Nick Wood versus both Greg and Gareth Smith.
Nick did well to only lose 9-7 in the fifth against that pairing.
